Even though the 2020-2021 season of the NBA is destined to be doomed considered the after-effects of the season marred by the coronavirus pandemic, some exciting trades and team swaps can breathe life into the league and spice things up a bit, once again.
Here are 5 blockbuster trades that might shakeup the NBA scenario ahead of the 2020-2021 season:
Blake Griffin To Houston Rockets

Piston Receive - Russell Westbrook and 2021 Second Round Pick.
Rockets Receive - Blake Griffin
The Houston Point Guard has showed his displeasure with the team and wants out. Detroit might just be the best location for both Russell Westbrook and for the return they get for him.
While here, Houston is again the one throwing in the First Round pick up what they get in return might just be the best fit for them. Yes, Blake Griffin‘s health has been a issue in the past, he can quite easily fit in the Rockets system by being a big man who can stretch the floor and can even be a ball handler at times.
On the other side Westbrook will be in the weaker conference of East and can still be a Playoff contender with Derrick Rose.
Kyle Lowry To Los Angeles Clippers

Clippers Receive- Kyle Lowry
Raptors Receive - Patrick Beverly, Montrezl Harrell (Sign and Trade), 2022 Second Round Pick
The 2019-2020 NBA season for the Clippers can be called one of the biggest disappointments ever. While they were thought to be the championship favorite by everyone, they went out in a second round defeat from the Denver Nuggets by blowing a 3-1 lead.
From all the clear holes seen in the team, one of them was the lack of playmaking, and for the reason Kawhi Leonard has reportedly asked (yes Patrick Beverly is there) for a Point Guard.
There can be no one better for this than the 2019 Champ and Leonard’s former teammate Kyle Lowry.
Raptors have also shown interest for trading him in the past. While yes, Clippers might be able to give the best return for him, but Lowry might be interested in playing with his former superstar teammate and compete for a championship once again.
James Harden To Philadelphia 76ers

76ers Receive - James Harden
Houston Receive - Ben Simmons, Josh Richardson, 2020 Second Round Pick and 2021 First Round Pick.
After Russell Westbrook asking out of Houston, it might make sense of Rockets to go in a total rebuild. For this they will need to trade their superstar James Harden. And as many spots emerge for him, Philadelphia is an interesting one. They now have the former Rockets GM Darel Morey. They can also offer the best single player, that being Ben Simmons, and can pair up harden with their superstar Big, Joel Embiid. On paper this looks like an amazing duo with complementary skill sets. The only problem being Embiid’s health. Harden has previously dealt with a similar situation with CP3 being out due to injury in game 7 of 2018 WCF.
Giannis Antetokounmpo To Miami Heat

Miami Receive - Giannis Antetokounmpo
Bucks Receive- Tyler Herro, Andre Igoudala, Kelly Olynyk, 2022 First Round Pick, 2024 First Round Pick
With the Bucks being eliminated in the past two playoffs, and the last one being in an undesirable fashion. Even after this the bucks organization has done nothing Big to convince the 2x MVP to stay with them. Khris Middleton is a very good player and perfectly compliment Giannis’s play style, but just isn’t enough to get Milwaukee over the hump and earn them a finals spot. With this Greek Freak might look to part ways with Bucks. One of the best Destinations for him is Miami.
Miami can offer their young core and draft picks. With this Giannis can be paired with Jimmy Buttler who just came off an astounding finals performance and Bam Adebayo who is the perfect 5 to go with Giannis Playing 4.
James Harden To Brooklyn Nets

Rockets Receive- Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert, Taurean Prince, 2020 First Round Pick, 2021 Second Round Pick and 2023 First Round Pick.
Brooklyn Receive- James Harden
If Rockets do decide to rebuild Brooklyn might be able to provide them with the best overall trade package, by giving them their young PG in Dinwiddie and LeVert who has shown flashes to be a great scorer and all around player. On the other hand Nets are looking to compete for a championship this year with Kyrie and KD.
If this already wasn’t one of the best offensive duo of all time adding Harden to it would just take it to another level. Harden and KD have played together before in OKC and can still have that chemistry. If this happens the 2020-21 season might just be a wrap.
